The 39th annual Wyoming Writers, Inc., conference will be held in Laramie, Wyoming, June 7 - 9, 2013 at the Hilton Garden Inn & UW Conference Center. Please find information below relevant to this year's conference.
Second Story Books is the official conference bookstore for the 39th annual Wyoming Writers, Inc., conference. You can find your favorite books by conference faculty or Wyoming Writers, Inc., members. You must be a WW, Inc., member to have your book(s) sold in the conference bookstore (Exception: conference faculty).
Located in the Garden Ballroom Pre-Function Area, the bookstore will be open on Friday, 3-7 p.m., and Saturday, 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Karen Mealey, the owner/manager of Second Story Books, asks member authors who plan to bring books to be sold on consignment to contact her prior to the conference so she can plan her space requirements. The Hilton Garden Inn & University of Wyoming Conference Center, located at 2229 Grand Avenue, is the official location for the 39th annual Wyoming Writers, Inc., conference. Rooms have been reserved until May 17, 2013
(after that, rooms will be available to the general public). Special room rate (mention Wyoming Writers) is $105.00
for standard rooms, which are two queens or one king. You may still receive the conference rate after May 18th, but there is no guarantee rooms will be available. Guests are welcome to accompany you, although only paid conference registrants may attend the workshops, panels, and one-on-one meetings. Itinerary for guests of registrants is “on your own.” Maps and other information for exploring the Laramie area are available at the conference registration desk. Sorry, no pets allowed other than service dogs.
To cancel early registration, contact Pat Frolander at (307) 283-2813. Registrations canceled by May 15, 2013 will receive an 85% refund. No refunds will be made after May 15th.
Registration includes Saturday breakfast, lunch, and dinner as well as Sunday breakfast, all breaks, workshops, and conference events. One day registration includes only Saturday’s events. Meal tickets for guests not registered for the conference (a spouse or child, for example) must be purchased separately by June 3rd or a 30% surcharge by the hotel will be added for each meal. Conference registration will be available at the door, but the hotel states meals cannot be guaranteed and the 30% surcharge will apply.
